I would file it with a large toenail file. Would take a while, but it should work.

Have your quick stop ready and trim it off...its much like a hang nail and easier/less painful in the long run to just trim it off and apply quick stop.

Done & done! The quick had recessed far enough back it wasn't a problem thankfully!

nailcare is a basic skill but with new pet owners it takes alittle practise and some instruction is helpful I am sure your vet can assist you by showing you the best way to clip your dogs nails. relax and trim alittle at a time, you'll get it.
