There has been talk about OFA verves Penn-Hip. Some people do not thinks that Penn-hip is a valid way to test hips as the results are unverifiable.
I took the time and called OFA today I found that you can send the Penn-hip results in to OFA for them to become "Public record".
This is how you can do that.
You need to send in a written request along with the test results and $25.00 to OFA They will indeed post the result of your Penn-hip on the public data base.
I forgot to ask if they have a Kennel rate.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!
I do not beleive that OFA has a kennel rate for listing Penn Hip results. I checked into this a while ago since i do both. I was upset that it cost so much to list the Penn Hip results that i never bothered to send them in to OFA.
The Pawcatuck River LRC created a FREE PennHIP database a number of years ago. I have never understood why it did not take off. I put up a number of my dogs because I felt it could provide useful information about my dogs' sires & dams. I still think it has the potential to do that for all labs.
I urge people, whose dogs have been evaluated with PennHIP, to add their information to the database. It would be a huge help to everyone. Here is the address: http://pennhip.prlrc.org/pennhip/ Maybe the time is right and the database can be turned into the wonderful tool it could be.
