A few months ago I placed a 5 yr. old neutered male. He was OFA excellent, normal elbows. No lameness prior to adoption. A few days after adoption dog showed lameness. I took him back, had him xrayed and he has HD bilateral, right worse than left. The people who adopted him are keeping him and controlling the HD with meds. I don't think this happened while with his new owners. Sometimes I think it's like a time bomb. There's no explanation, these things happen.
