Do the puppies have to be within the standard height limits? I would think it wouldn't apply to them but didn't know for sure and mine hasn't reached it yet. TIA!
From the AKC Standard: "The minimum height ranges set forth in the paragraph above shall not apply t dogs or bitches under twelve months of age."
We are lucky - the Golden Retriever standard doesn't have an exemption for puppies.
Please don't take this as being snarky, like a lot of posts here - I don't know what your experience or level of involvement is in the sport, but it's important to be familiar enough with the standard to know the DQs so if you ever are facing it with a dog you'll know ahead of the judge.
