Interesting in Frederick, MD

For those of you interested in public art, there is an artist named William Cochran who has done some amazing trompe l'oeil painting on walls in Frederick, MD. Especially amazing is the Community Bridge that spans Carroll Creek that runs through the center of Frederick. Two years ago I arrived in Frederick a day early so I could look at all of them. It was a beautiful spring day and all were within walking distance of each other. I had seen "Earthbound" outside of the Tasting Room Restaurant several times but it was interesting to see his other work.

His works are on various buildings—or near these buildings in Old Town Frederick:

“Edge of Gravity” Griff’s Landing, 43 S. Market St

“Earthbound” The Orchard Restaurant, 45 N. Market St

“Egress” Edgeworks Knife & Supply, 200 N. Market St

“Community Bridge” Delaplaine Art Center, 40 S.Carroll St

“The Dreaming" Francis Scott Key Hotel, 31 W. Patrick St
