One Puff

Thought I'd like to share this.

I whelped a litter of puppies yesterday, and it was the first time I've had a chance to use something that Marion Daniels had told me about last year.
It's called The One Puff and is made by McClulloch Medical. http://www.veterinaryconcepts.com/index.php/one-puff.html

My bitch whelped 11 puppies, and #10 was a very small 8oz girl. Although she had a heartbeat, and I suctioned all the mucus from her, she still would not take a breath on her own. I reached for the One Puff resuscitator , and after two pumps of getting air into her, she began to breath on her own. It was labored for a while, but she was breathing.

In the past, I have breathed into the puppies nose and mouth myself, but it seems that this resuscitator does a much better job of it. I can't remember what I paid for it, but it was money well spent. Thanks for the tip Marion!

Re: One Puff

I'm soooo glad you used it Jill. More than pays for itself when you save one puppy. Add a little oxygen at the same time and hopefully no shortness of breath afterwards. The part for aspiration works just as well as the respirator. Congrats on your new litter and what a great mommy for having 11 babies is less than 6 hours. Miss ya bunches............ Marion

Re: One Puff

Can One Puff be purchased in Canada? Thank you.

Re: One Puff

Not sure about where in Canada but I bet if you contact them they will be happy to share where you might be able to find it there or my guess is they can send it to you. http://www.veterinaryconcepts.com/index.php/one-puff.html
hope this helps, Marion
