EOLBA Specialty -

If you are thinking about attending the EOLBA Specialty and related All Breed shows in July, I want to invite you to consider Gananoque as a place to stay while showing. We may be a small, rural Ontario town, but we offer big city amenities: world class theatre and golf, a casino, five star dining and great shopping! A short 10 minute drive East of the show grounds along a 4 lane highway, Gan is right on the St Lawrence River and features lots of green space, access to the water, a relaxed summer atmosphere, and swans on the Gananoque River.

98% of the hotels/motels are pet friendly (The Gananoque Inn and Spa is not but is a lovely, lovely spot); food choices range from chip trucks in City Park to several 5 star restaurants that have been featured in Where to Eat in Canada. I can honestly say that I have not had a bad meal in Gan and some truly spectacular ones. There is a WICKED ice cream shop, a coffee shop & a bakery that rival European ones; funky clothing and jewellery stores that would not be out of place in Toronto or New York City; the Thousand Islands Soap Company - their all natural products are made on site and are some of the nicest products I have used; a Museum and gift shops featuring a wide variety of beautiful handmade items by talented local artisans; a wonderful hardware store operated by members of the same family for 138 years....

You can unwind after the shows by attending the Thousand Islands Playhouse which overlooks the St Lawrence River, taking an evening cruise through the Thousand Islands, playing a round of golf on one of the several courses in the area, or by spending some time at the Casino .... There is usually always something going on at the Town Park on a Saturday night & there are some special events planned for the bicentennial of the War of 1812.

Just want to let everyone know there are other options out there besides "401 Strip" in Kingston included in the show program ... Can you tell I love where I live???

Re: EOLBA Specialty -

Thank you Sue, it's so nice to know other options !

Re: EOLBA Specialty -

Yes, and there are also motels in Napanee, and don't forget our BBQ and meet and greet with the judges, also held in Napanee, all 25 minutes from the show.

Having said that, there is a block of rooms reserved for our exhibitors at the First Canada Inn in Kingston, they're very close to the show and pet friendly, with a special rate for our exhibitors.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
