When I was feeding raw , I used dehydrated chicken or beef liver and hearts.Bits of salmon.Cooked chicken breast.String cheese. Tiny pieces at a time. Even Evengers Brand canned dog food, pheasant and other odd protiens...I pack them in a feed tube ( you can get at campers supply store) .
Actually still use same bait. But no longer feed raw. Just wasnt a fit for my boy.
I no longer feed raw, but when I did I used liver ringbait, or better yet, if you can get it, slow roasted beef heart cut into strips. They all went wild for beef heart, moreso than liver. I had to buy an entire heart (HUGE!)and slice it up after removing the outer fat. Perhaps if you have a good local butcher, or cattle rancher, you can arrange for the hearts that way. I am sure lamb heart would be good also if you know sheep ranchers.
