I am looking for an orthopedist within a reasonable driving distance of Vermont/NY area in Canada. I am looking for a vet to get a drug -Cartrophen- they use in Canada/UK but my ortho vet doesn't want to get it for me, he'd rather try out a new surgical technique.

You can get this from a GP vet here in Canada .. no need for a specialist. You will need to book an appointment so they can examine the dog prior to dispensing however ...

It's your dog....TELL the vet you want to try it before doing any surgery. This drug is worth a try but be prepared....it doesn't always work from my experience with it. JMHO
