Small lump at site of microchip

One of my 9 week old pups has a small, moveable lump at the site of his Datamar microchip. My vet believes it's excess scar tissue created to hold the chip in place. The pup's potential owner is understandably concerned and is thinking of not adopting him because of it. Has anyone else encountered this? Did the lump disappear? There's one very frightening website about a dog who supposedly died of cancer caused by an implanted microchip but the author also believes microchips are part of a plot to control our lives so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

In case it matters, the chip was implanted on July 24.

Don't worry; just a hematoma... warm compresses and it will go away!
