When would you let an older puppy boy, now 7 months old, be kennelled with a 2 year old, kind male? They run around with each other outside the kennel and in the house, but are not with each other all day.
Personally, I would not kennel a puppy with an older dog. Are both intact? The size and weight difference would be my concern. Dogs can be unintentionally rough with each other and the area inside a kennel doesn't offer much escape room for either dog.
