Has anyone ever seen face swelling with Coccidia? Swelling looks similar to what you see with reaction to a bug bite/sting. Pup is 5 months old. Found cocci in another dog's stool in same household. Just never seen face swelling with coccidia??? Pup with face swelling also had dirrhea and vomitting, which responded to sulfa drugs, and swelling has also gone away.

I think system was compromised due to coccidia and something else also was going on which responded to the meds.

At 5 months maybe a tooth?

Strangles came to mind, but the pup responded to the meds, so probably a reaction to a spider bite, meds, or some other allergen.

Most likely unrelated.

Strangles can appear from 2 wks of age up to a little over a year. I don't think the two are related other than a compromised immune system. JMO and nothing more.
