Finished Leon a few years ago at Reliant when he was out of coat. Boy, was I surprised!!

If the dog has outstanding conformation and great movement it should be able to win even though he/she's out of coat. A good judge will tell :)

It will depend on how your dog stacks up against the competition, and if the other dogs being shown are also out of coat or not. Being out of coat will be a disadvantage, but there are grooming tricks you can do to make an out of coat dog look like it has more coat than it does. Though I will show a dog out of coat from time to time if it is really bald I leave them home.

Judges are dog people too, they know that dogs shed, if you are just worried that the judge will get upset if they get a handfull of hair I would not worry about that.
