New Dog Sketch Artist

Dear Lab friends -

My dear friend Susie Melkus has started a business sketching dog portraits.
This effort started out at the request of a local kennel near her home in Omaha, Nebraska, and with sketches done of the dogs of her friends and our friends. Amazingly, the enterprise took off, and Susie got many more requests from dog lovers to have their dogs' portraits done. You can check out Susie's work on her website: http://doggydoodlesbysusie.weebly.com/
and now her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/petsdrawnbysusie.

If you scroll down on the website, you'll see the sketch Susie did of my
black, AKC-registered English Lab. Susie's work is a very accurate portrayal of my beloved pet. There are also examples of sketches done of yellow and chocolate Labs, and you can compare these sketches on the website to the original photographs provided.

Susie's prices are very reasonable. But above all else, Susie is a good woman you can trust. We met on pilgrimage to Rome many years ago.

And before I sign off, many thanks again to the Wiests and Valerie Whelan for helping me get my dog. I appreciate all of their loving efforts. And thanks to all Lab breeders for everything you do to preserve the breed. What an honor to be chosen to be God's responsible stewards of His creation!

Another artist option is Catherine J. Magnuson, who has a painting at the 2014 Art Show at the Dog Show, a National Juried Exhibition dedicated to the dog in Art. The show is running currently in Kansas City. It is an acrylic painting, entitled, "Portrait of Jack."
