Problem - my - when I put on the pad will NOT GET OFF OF IT - thus labor slows and we end up having some issues. Turning it off and of - moving it - doesn't help - so maybe if she doesn't know its there (aka under) then she will continue to move around for me.
I don't use them during whelp. I have a warming box that I will put the pups in so they are out of the way during delivery. I don't mind using a heat lamp IF I'm right there, but if I need to leave for a couple hours they make me nervous due to friends having had fires.
