Most breeders don't get it. They think they are such wonderful breeders that no laws would ever touch them. The AR Groups like HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) and PETA are working hard to restrict, severely limit and ultimately take away our rights as breeders.

We are all too quick to swallow their poison when bills are disguised as eliminating those substandard breeders, but what most breeders don't realize is that to them we are all that derogatory breeder hate slur.

They fill social media with emotionally manipulative videos and photos, many old, outdated, taken out of context, doctored or staged in order to create an emotional response to get people to take action and to vilify ALL breeders. The term used is also meant to conjure up those photos and get people to act on their emotions rather than to think rationally and put things into perspective.

Sadly we are so busy fighting each other, throwing that term around on breeders we don't like or think they breed too much to be able to look at the bigger picture, put our differences aside and fight these onslaught of proposed legislation. We're so fractured and because we love animals, we are played by the AR groups. The thread about how many is two [sic] many is a prime example of more AR rhetoric.

Bottom line, these groups are well-funded and well-organized. The HSUS brags about presenting 1000 new bills a year. City councils listen to them, some on the take and think they are experts in dog husbandry. They are not. Make no mistake about it, they want to end breeding period!
