Dosage to give of safeguard dewormer?

Hi, I ordered the safeguard dewormer to do a second worming on my pups for round worms, when I ordered it I was told it was 1cc per 10lbs of body weight for 3 days, just called them to reconfirmed as the dosage on the bottle for goats looks different and now they are telling me 1cc per 4lbs of body weight for 3 days, does anyone have the correct dosage please? I don't want to give them too much and make them sick grrrrr

Re: Dosage to give of safeguard dewormer?

I know on adults its 1cc per 4 pounds. Never used it on pups.

Re: Dosage to give of safeguard dewormer?

Yes. I have done this dosage 1cc per 4 pounds for two years. They say the roundworms have become resistant to it. It hasn't hurt any of my puppies or adults.

Thank you both for the response, dunno why it would be less for goats than dogs hmmmm

Liquid version, same 10%, is sold in the UK for dogs and cats. To confirm the dosages, you need to convert pounds to kg.

Goats have very different digestive systems than dogs and cats, for one thing.

When in doubt, ask your veterinarian.
