A CANINE HEALTH EDUCATION SEMINAR

SPEAKERS WILL INCLUDE:
ROB GILLETTE, DVM, MSE – Charter Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Center, Red Bank, NJ.
Interests include canine sports medicine problems, including: medical related performance problems, injury repair, rehabilitation and reconditioning. Works with canine athletic and working dogs in his practice. Runs conditioning programs, training regimens, injury prevention and breeding programs for the performance dog.

MERYL LITTMAN, VMD, DACVIM – Professor of Medicine and Clinician-educator at PENNVET. Has written many chapters and position papers about Lyme Disease. Chaired and authored the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Lyme Consensus Statement and helped write the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of glomerulonephritis with the International Renal Interest Society (IRIS) Canine Glomerulonephritis Study Group. Her interests also include systemic hypertension, genetic kidney diseases, and other tick-borne and infectious diseases that affect the kidney, such as leptospirosis.

KATHRYN E. MICHEL, B.A., D.V.M., M.S. – Professor of Nutrition, Department of Clinical Studies – Philadelphia School of Veterinary Medicine. Associate Dean of Education, School of Veterinary Medicine. Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition. Clinical work includes companion animal nutrition, nutritional assessment, body condition assessment, obesity and weight reduction and unconventional companion animal diets. Her research includes measurement of energy expenditure, nutritional assessment, nutritional requirements of critically ill companion animals, nutrient modulation of G.I. and endocrine diseases and obesity and weight reduction.

PASCALE C. SALAH VET.MED., DACVIM – Staff Medical Oncologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
Graduate of the University of Hannover, Germany , School of Veterinary Medicine. Internship at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine Residency in Medical Oncology at Tufts University , Massachusetts. Clinical Oncology Lecturer for 4 years at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Areas of special interest include lymphoma and hemangiosarcoma in dogs, and improving quality of life for pets during cancer treatment.
