Re: LOW COPPER DOG FOODS: Flint River Ranch bites the dust

I feed Pinnacle Salmon and Potato and it is 11 MG/KG (Turkey and Potato is also 11 MG/KG, Trout and Sweet Potato is 10.8 MG/KG). It works well for my dogs, who do great on it. Some of the other grain free formulas are higher for copper (Duck recipe is ~15 MG/KG and the chicken and vegetable formula is ~19 MG/KG). I have also used Zignature foods and I believe several formulas are at 12 MG/KG. Avo has some low-copper (relatively speaking) foods.

Thanks for great leads! Kate

Grain Free Precise Holistic Complete Salmon and Garbanzo is 10.18 mg/kg, the pork one is 10.25, but I don't know if that is dry matter or as fed. My girl's sister had (they had to let her go) copper storage disease, so I've been trying to find her something low, but she is also picky, she does eat the Precise. It is just horrendously expensive. Sadly the regular Precise formulas aren't as low in copper.

Avoderm Oven-Baked Lamb & Rice is 8mg/kg as fed, regular Lamb & Rice is 7.5, Adult Chicken is 10.5, but my dog won't eat Avoderm.
