Locally, we return to school Tuesday. Over the break, I have learned that two families with children at my school have lost parents.
First, Victor lost his dad, Victor. He is in 7th grade.His mother is Veronica. He also has a siter Donna
who is in 9th grade. Veronica was my room mate the last 2 years when we chaperoned the band trips. She attends a church with a Spanish ministry as she is from Mexico originally. She works very hard cleaning houses.I know it's going to be rough supporting her kids all alone. Victor Jr. has had a lot of trouble in school in the past. Losing his dad will be more difficult.
Then there is Mary and Zachery. They just lost their Mother, Rachel, on January 1st. Rachel was a single mom. I worked with her before I transfered to the middle school. Mary is in 8th grade and Zachery is in 7th. I don't know what will happen to them. She was divorcing the year I worked with her. My daughter, Rachel, still attends that school where Rachel worked as the Work Room Assistant. They are a tight nit school and will feel the loss of Ms. Rachel as they called her. She is the lady that made all the coppies for the teachers. Her first year at the school she got assistant of the year. So, the kids and teachers will return to a great loss, but most of all I know that her children are hurting. They've already been through a lot. I am hoping I can reach out to them.

Father, thank You for hearing us when we call. I know that these families are calling to You, and I pray that You will help them. Please give them the strength they need to get through this, and the comfort that they will so desperately need. Please bless the children in the school who will miss their teacher. And please especially be with Mary and Zachary; Father, they must feel as though their world has been destroyed. Please keep them near Your heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
