I've "lurked" around the Liberal Party for some years. Having dabbled in the Lib Dems ( fundamentally illiberal and in their committment to the Euro), and The Greens ( also illiberal in their aim to put up tariff barriers around Britain) I think I'm now ready to commit. I first picked up a Liberal Party manifesto in the 80's, at which time green issues seemed to figure prominently. Recently however I've viewed the website, and environmental thinking seems to have sadly fallen away. Rather presumptiously I've started one of those Yahoo discussion groups called Liberal Ecology at:

All are welcome,
Hope no one is upset by this upstart behaviour.
Steve Radford very kindly sent me a copy of the draft manifesto, and I was delighted to see that the environmentalism is still at the heart of Liberal Party policy.
