Angela Lansbury says she's ready to dance

CHICAGO, March 25 (UPI) --

Actress Angela Lansbury has kicked off a national campaign with DePuy Orthopaedics to educate women about knee replacement surgery.

The 80-year-old star of TV's "Murder, She Wrote" as well as several films and Broadway musicals, said she could barely walk because of crippling knee injuries.

Since undergoing knee replacement surgery, "I can move and dance again," she said in a news release.

"A lot of women think that chronic pain is part of getting old," said Lansbury. "It doesn't have to be."

The four-time Tony Award winner kicked off the campaign this week during the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in Chicago.
