I noticed my girl licking her foot and limping a little. I turned over her paw and actually found a raw spot deep in the web of her paw. Also, I can see a small amount of what looks like white fungus attached to the inside of the pad. What in the world? Anyone have experience with this? It almost looks like she needs a fungicide instead of an antibiotic. (before she sprouts a mushroom!)
Also recommended by vets is Nizoral shampoo for humans. It fights fungus.
Alot of people think they are fighting food allergies when their dogs chew their paws when it could be a fungus. This is an easy way to find out and could save your poor dog tons of food changes.
Ketoconizale is what we used on one of our dogs as a treatment for yeast between pads on feet. It is very expensive. There are newer version which are more affective: Fluconazole and Intraconazole. Not to be used for long time cure unless very small doses only several days a week are prescribed. But it does work.
