Oral Cal Plus from Revival. Wouldn't whelp w/o it! ;) Much better source of Ca++ for the dog anyhow. Might keep the ice cream for yourself though... :)
12-24 more hand towels.
Change dental floss for fishing nylon. Less chance of infections.
2 more Pairs Hemostats.
Basket for the puppies. I like the cat litter plastic ones.
We use old bed sheets in the whelping box (not paper) so lots and lots of sheets, a flashlight if I have to take my girl outside at night during whelping, a heating pad to lay under fleece in the puppy box . If u r a novice at whelping I would not use oxytocin ub
unless under the supervision of an experienced vet
Gas in the van and a full charge on the phones, home and cell.
Portable heat source in case you have to go to the vet,
and a small or travel sized human hair dryer (on low) for help drying/reviving puppies fast.
Calf liver for fading pups, I swear its a life saver and I would never whelp a litter without it again! Boil the liver in some water and give the pup a few drops every hour. Even if you don't have a fading pup, but your pups have a low birth weight, giving them a few drops help put some weight on them and keep them active! There are a few threads on here with the exact directions for it. I agree, lots more towels, and a good friend really helps! I've had a few pups that were such live wires I could barely tie the cord because they moved so much. An extra set of hands would seriously help!!
