just heard about that on the tv.
How many recalls does this make for Diamond in recent memory? Have they ever heard of the concept of quality control, so they would catch these problems BEFORE they hit the shelves?

At least they are testing and being truthful.

this was a voluntary recall with concerns form the recent human grade food recall in several states.
Glad they pulled it just in case....it happens all the time in grocery stores, it is just life.

Thanks, Val. We have a family member on chemo. Their household uses some foods manufactured by Diamond for their shaggy breeds with beards that could shed bacteria, including this one. I have sent the information to his wife.

My concern would be if this becomes a cascading event, with other foods manufactured by Diamond affected. They manufacture MANY labels, including 4Health, Taste of the Wild and even Solid Gold, unless things have changed. Be very careful with puppies and pregnant dogs, as well as humans with compromised immune systems, small children and the elderly. It is my understanding that we are more likely to get symptomatic salmonella than the dogs, but I'm no physician or vet. Thanks again. You may have saved a person's life tonight.

Being truthful is always good, but the testing should be done before the food leaves the plant!

I use a Diamond Naturals product. I have to say, this does scare me a bit.
