I'vr never heard of calf lick---cow lick is the expression but maybe it's a British thing. I would think a judge would judge the whole dog. I've seen a zipper add a sweetness to the expression but also have seen it make a dog's face look like it was split in half.
I found a older Janice Pritchard critique where she mentioned a *calf lick* which is a zipper or cow lick. It apparently is British vocabulary for what we call a zipper.
