Age old question. Good reason to use puppy chow ? something good like PP or stick to an adult food for pups ? Pros and Cons. Anyone tryed both and successes ?
I feed PP Puppy until the pups have all of their adult teeth, about 7-8 months old.
IMO, the worst time to switch to adult food is when they are teething. The body needs calcium to make the teeth and it will take it from the bones if needed. I also have a large % of my dogs come back OFA Excellent, so there has not been any ortho reason to "slow" their growth by switching. ProPlan Puppy is only 28% protein. Maybe others need to switch because they feed a "Hot" puppy food brand.
