Young Males

I'm sure it depends on the lines, but in most cases will you see a young male grow in height a good bit between 6-8 months or does he have most of his height by 6 months? Not used to growing out males. Have a 6 month old boy that is not as tall as my adult bitches yet...so kinda wondering about his height.

Re: Young Males

It does depend on the lines but yes, I've seen a good inch of growth after 6 months.

Re: Young Males

For my line, at least one year. Add substance after that.

I am performance oriented (while still getting UKC conformation titles...for whatever that might be worth), so slower growth is desired for me.

Re: Young Males

I'm hoping for 2 more inches. He just turned 6 months, so fingers crossed.

Re: Young Males

I thought they would grow "height" up until a year of age and then add substance?
I too have a young male who's pretty short on legs at this point and my first time growing males. I sure hope he'll grow for longer time then just 3 more months!
Usually bitches grow up until they start their first heat.

Re: Young Males

I had a boy grow more than an inch between 12 and 18 months.
