AKC does have their own chip, the trovan. However, any chip/dog can be registered w/ CAR through AKC.
Go back to your vet, have him scan your dog for the number and give you another registration form. Did the same thing a year ago, lol.
Oops, I see that you did it yourself. Your vet should still be able to scan and give you the registration form anyway.
I register all my chips with AKC, not the manufacturer. Cheaper and only a one-time fee. Some chip companies require an annual fee. MWK
