I am looking for information regarding the herringbone walls and the connection with the porteway in Sandiacre. There is a section of wall by the public footpath that runs below the newer graveyard, after following the church wall down past the entrance for church farm. I think that more wall is covered by falling/displaced soil from the graveyard above. There is a cross marked into the bedrock at this point.

I can\'t believe how beautiful the Spring flowers are in Ilkeston .. We have about 3 feet of snow left and expecting more. I have just returned from South Carolina and Florida and even they don\'t have many flowers out yet.
This weeks photographs are the beat you have ever taken Garth. I\'ll be sure to send them to all my friends in Canada to cheer them up..

I\'m absolutely loving your site, I\'ve spent hours looking at your photographs and reading all about them - many things that I never knew! There\'s so many features on your site that were a joy to look through (too many to list!) but amongst my favourites were \"Ilkeston Town Walk\", \"Hallam Fields Industrial Trail\" and \"Lock to Lock\". It\'s crazy seeing some of those areas again, some of them I haven\'t seen for 20+ years!



I lived in Ilkeston until I was 27 and moved to Morecambe, Lancashire over 5 years ago. I might not be as far adrift as some of your USA and New Zealand viewers and I still make a few visits to Ilkeston each year to see family and friends but nevertheless I really appreciate all your work. It really has made me look at Ilkeston in a different light! The next time I\'m there I\'ll take my Wife for a walk around town or maybe a bicycle ride along the canal, re-tracing some of your steps and my childhood memories!

Now live in Belper after leaving the RAF.Still come to Ilkeston to see the motorcycle display at the Museum & meet the old gang.Some have worn well,some not so well.Not sure were I fit in this.Sad to see Hallcroft gone,remember Ben Noon with affection & Rip.Dancing at Harry Graingers & Premier,motorcycling at The Mountain Top,first girlfriend at 3 years old Eunice Corns,she dumped me at 6 years for a younger man.Forgive her though.Had a happy childhood in Ilkeston & remember it with great affection

Some time ago, when you were doing the Victoria Park trees , I told you about the tree at the top of Manor Road outside the Paramedic Centre , please go and have a look at it now, it is in full flower. I submitted it to ispot they said it was privet. Please go and have a look , I think it was left over from the Ilkeston hall garden , seems a bit big and showy to be privet, what do you think?
